The final report of the Second Mission Meeting on Conservation of Sharks-India is now available. The meeting was held in Chennai in July. Third national meeting on shark conservation

The third National Mission Meeting on Conservation of Sharks-India will be held 20th November 2014 at Manglore. The detailed programme and venue will be informed you soon. The venue, date and other details will be send you soon.

The first national meeting was held outside Trivandrum in March and the second in Chennai in July.

Workshop to review Deep Sea Fishing Policy

The NFF, KSMTF and ADSGAF are  jointly organizing a one day workshop on “A Critical Review of Deep Sea Fishing Policy and Conservation of Sharks” on 16th September 2014 at Press Club, Trivandrum from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm.

The workshop is being organised with the aim of analysing the move of the Government of India to create offshore buffer zones, ban fishing of
certain species of sharks and rays, promoting foreign trawlers in India etc.
